RAID: Shadow Legends Arena Guide

The Arena is where your team meets other players’ teams. This guide covers the attack and defense loop, what makes a strong team, and how the weekly reset works.

How the Arena works

In the Arena you attack other players’ teams and defend your own against incoming attacks. Winning attacks earns you ranking points; losing defense costs some. The arena meta favors fast, decisive fights — most matches are decided in the first few turns.

The exact rules, matchmaking and point values change between updates, so treat any specific numbers as approximate and check the current in-game values.

Building an Arena team

Arena teams are usually built around one of a few strategies. Pick one and commit:

  • Speed-first: go first and wipe the enemy before they act.
  • Burst damage: heavy single-target or AoE nukers that delete key threats.
  • Control: debuffs, turn meter reduction and stuns to lock the enemy down.

Speed is the most common foundation — the team that takes the first turn usually dictates the match. That makes speed sets and speed substats disproportionately valuable in the Arena (see Artifacts).

Defense teams

Your defense team fights automatically when other players attack you. A good defense is not necessarily your strongest attack team — it is a team that is awkward to beat: tanky, unpredictable, or designed to punish common attack compositions.

Expect to lose defenses regularly; that is normal. The goal is to win enough that attacking you feels like bad value, which quietly protects your ranking.

Arena tiers

Players are grouped into arena tiers based on their ranking points. The tier names and thresholds change between updates, so treat the ladder as approximate — the pattern of climbing, resetting weekly and earning better rewards at higher tiers stays the same.

Weekly reset

The Arena runs on a weekly cycle: at reset, rankings are recalculated and season rewards are handed out based on where you finished. Climbing late in the week is usually harder than climbing early, so a steady pace beats last-minute grinding.

FAQ

FAQ

Common questions about this topic.

What are the best arena teams?

Teams built around speed, burst or control — see the strategies above. Current meta names change with every update, so recent community lists are the best source.

Is there an arena team builder?

Community tools like RSL-x include team-building features that work for the Arena. They are fan-made, so confirm the current values in-game.

How should I build a defense team?

Make it awkward to beat: tanky champions, annoying debuffs and a composition that punishes common attack strategies. Losing some defenses is normal.

What is the arena meta?

Speed and burst dominate — most fights end in the first few turns. Control compositions are strong too, but the exact meta shifts with every update.

Any arena tips for beginners?

Build one fast team, attack opponents you can beat, and stay active early in the week when climbing is easier. Don’t over-invest in arena-only champions early.
